Boston, MA – the Cable News Network (CNN) has evolved since it was founded in 1980. CNN has incorporated many different ways of telling breaking news. On many computers, but especially for Apple MacBook’s, there is a setting that allows you to receive push notifications from CNN. Push Notifications come in the way of rectangular pop-ups on the upper right-hand side of your computer, cellular device, or laptop. They are time stamped and continuously updated and saved on the notifications tab of your computer. Another way CNN successfully covers breaking new stories are the multimedia platforms they utilize on their website
example, the breaking news that Steve Bannon, President Trump’s chief strategist, got removed from the National Security Council was covered auditorily, visually, and classically in writing. Another social media platform that is heavily used by CNN to relay breaking news to the public is Instagram. CNN recently posted a photograph of two Dutch policemen holding hands in solidarity to stand up against homophobia and the gang violence on a gay couple Jasper Vernes-Sewratan and Ronnie Sewratan-Vernes in Arnhem, Netherlands. Instead of pumping out an entire article, Tweets, Instagrams, and video/audio recordings are way faster and easier to use to reach their followers/readers than it is to print an article and hope people buy the paper or have the attention span to read the entire article online.
